The Skyborne

Highborne exiles who made a pact with the wind spirits and built a civilization inside Skywall. Their story begins on Zephras Isle, and you choose their side at character creation: the Horde’s Windshapers can be Shamans, the Alliance’s High Order can be Mages, and both can be Druids, Hunters, Rogues and Warriors.

Six new class combinations

Four new zones

All zones by level

Nine dungeons and three raids

New dungeons fill every level band from 13 to 60. The first raids open on December 9.

Dungeons and raids

Every class was rebuilt

141 new talents, 242 reworked and 107 removed across 27 trees, plus 124 new trainer ranks.

Warrior

Warrior

Weaponmaster replaces the four weapon specializations, Spearing Strike punishes Giants, Dragonkin and mounted foes, Raging Blows puts the off-hand into Whirlwind, and Protection gains Vanguard, Master of Defense and Bastion. Victory Rush is a new trainer spell, and Tactical Mastery moved from the Arms tree to the trainer.

Paladin

Paladin

Forsaken can be Paladins and the class gains a tanking seal, Seal of Fury. Holy is built around Holy Shock and Light’s Vigil, Protection around Templar’s Bulwark and Holy Shield, and Retribution’s capstone Twist of Light turns seal swapping into a mechanic. Consecration and Blessing of Kings are trainer spells, and Holy Strike is a new baseline attack.

Hunter

Hunter

Beast Mastery adds Summon Hawk, Marksmanship gains Careful Aim, Lone Wolf and the Sniper Shot capstone, and Survival is rebuilt as a melee spec around Mongoose Bite, Strider Kick and Lacerating Strikes. Humans can now be Hunters.

Rogue

Rogue

Mutilate and Venom anchor Assassination. In Combat, Hack and Slash replaces the weapon specializations: axes and swords trigger extra attacks, daggers and fist weapons gain crit, maces ignore armor. Subtlety builds toward Thousand Cuts, Cutthroat and Quietus, and Coup de Grace is a new trainer passive that strengthens Eviscerate against poisoned targets.

Priest

Priest

Discipline gains Penance, Divine Aegis and Renewed Hope; Holy ends in Prayer of Mending with Binding Heal and Litany of Light on the way; Shadow gets Improved Mind Flay, Devouring Contagion and Early Demise. Shadow Word: Death is a new trainer spell, the trainer lists new priest spells such as Chastise and Contingency Plan, and Divine Spirit and Lightwell left the trees for the trainer. Gnomes can be Priests.

Shaman

Shaman

Dwarves can now be Shamans, so the class is no longer Horde-only. Elemental gains Lava Burst and Lightning Overload, Enhancement gains Maelstrom Weapon, Mental Dexterity and Rage of the Farseer, and Restoration gains Water Shield and Riptide. Totem bars (Call of the Elements, Ancestors and Spirits) and Totemic Recall arrive as trainer spells.

Mage

Mage

Arcane Blast and Missile Barrage reshape Arcane, Heating Up makes Pyroblast part of the Fire rotation, and Frost gains Ice Lance and Fingers of Frost. Frostfire Bolt and Teleport: Dalaran are new trainer spells. Orcs can now be Mages, and the High Order Skyborne bring the class to a new race.

Warlock

Warlock

The most rebuilt class in Forever: Curses of Agony and Doom become Banes, Affliction ends in Wrack, Demonology in Demonic Pact and Destruction in Incinerate. Trolls can now be Warlocks.

Druid

Druid

Balance adds Eclipse, Genesis and Nature’s Majesty, Feral gains Primal Bite, Shifting Power and the Berserk capstone, and Restoration ends in Wild Growth. Omen of Clarity and Nature’s Grasp are now trainer spells, and the Skyborne bring new druid forms.

The Legacy system

Sixty-five account-wide challenges. Each one earns a point to spend on perks, up to 16 per character at launch, plus mounts, pets and toys along the way.

Moonlit night elf village

Rulesets, not realms

Pick how you want to play, not a server. Group with anyone on your ruleset; battlegrounds mix them, except Hardcore.

A troll adventurer in a mossy cave

Darkspear Islands

A new fifteen-player battleground on the Echo Isles that mixes a central flag with capture points.

What comes after launch

Blizzard’s roadmap for 2027. The level cap stays at 60, so each update adds to the world instead of replacing it.

Spring 2027

New raids, dungeons and quests

A new ten-player raid and a new twenty-player raid, with new dungeons and quests alongside them.

Summer 2027

An iconic raid returns

A revamped version of an iconic raid, plus another new raid.
